About us
Journey to Healing Hearts was founded by Jaymie Salinas in 2024 after a major career shift. Having spent over 25 years in the accounting field, Jaymie realized the need for community services and felt compelled to make a difference. Her initial goal was to support pregnant girls in need, drawing from her personal experience. Reflecting on her teenage pregnancy, she said, “When I became pregnant in my teens, there was very little help, especially for someone in my situation. I want to give these girls the support I wish I had.”
After going back to school and taking numerous courses to gain expertise, Jaymie worked at various agencies, solidifying her passion for helping others. One of her roles placed her in the Human Trafficking department, where she was shocked to learn about the prevalence of this issue. This deepened her commitment, and at another agency, she worked with her first client, reaffirming her desire to fight for vulnerable girls in need of support.
Jaymie faced immense frustration when she struggled to find safe places for her clients, emotionally asking, “How can all these places turn these girls away so easily? Why?” Driven by anger and a sense of injustice, she made it her mission to create a safe house for girls in crisis.
Now, Jaymie is launching a housing program through Journey to Healing Hearts, dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals who have experienced trafficking, domestic violence, or trauma and are seeking healing. The program offers not only a place to stay but also access to essential resources, counseling, support groups, and life skills development. At Journey to Healing Hearts, we are committed to walking alongside each resident, helping them achieve stability, independence, and a brighter future on their path to healing and empowerment.
